EASE (Excellence in Accessibility Standards and Environment) applies to all types of built environments that are open to public visits. However, we are currently focusing on the built environments mentioned here. If your built environment type is not listed, please contact us. We will get back to you and explore our solutions for your built environment.

The certification process follows the EASE Building Standards Version 1(Beta), May 2025. Curated by Placelytics, it is the first version of an extensive compliance model for inclusive building practices. It adheres to the accessibility standards defined by the Harmonised Guidelines & Standards for Universal Accessibility, 2021 and National Building Codes, 2016.

The two types of certifications differ based on the level of accessibility compliance that your building meets.

For EASE Core, buildings must comply with minimum accessibility standards for the core area indicators. When compliant with these standards, target groups can enter, move and access the primary building functions independently.

EASE Apex recognizes buildings that put effort into attaining inclusion in their design beyond the minimum requirements. For EASE Apex, buildings must meet minimum accessibility compliance for additional services and spaces beyond the primary core areas.

To start your EASE certification journey, proceed with our Pilot Program. Learn about the process based on your audit type, on-site audit for existing buildings or design audit for upcoming ones. Also, please check out EASE for every project to find the most suitable project type to register your project site.

The pricing model for EASE varies depending on multiple factors. Such as –

The size and complexity of a built environment, the type of audit, and the type and level of certification you want to achieve, etc.

We release a quotation after completion of the EASE prerequisite evaluation, step 2 of the EASE process. However, we charge a minimal registration fee before the evaluation, which gets waived once enroled as an EASE Aspirant Building.

The duration of the certification process can vary depending on the size and complexity of a built environment. On average, the process can take several weeks to 1 -2 months. On-site projects take longer than design projects, as they involve an initial assessment, 2 site inspections and 2 report preparations. As for the design project, you can achieve a pre-certification within 2 – 3 weeks.

The EASE Audit is performed by Placelytics Professional Auditors who meet the minimum competency requirements. They receive comprehensive training to ensure effective execution of the EASE Audit.

If your built environment does not meet the required standards, the appointed Placelytics Professional Auditor will guide you.  You’ll receive detailed accessibility reports outlining the areas that need improvement and recommendations. You can then make the necessary modifications and improvements before scheduling a follow-up assessment.

Yes, the EASE Certification does have validity. Accessibility is ever evolving. You must maintain the accessibility standards achieved when the certification is awarded. Apply for recertification after 3 years from the date of issue of your initial certification.
